    Frequently Asked Questions

    Why wood pressed oil?

In the wood press method, oil is extracted traditionally at a temperature below 40°C, preserving all the nutrients, flavour and aroma.

Why does the oil have sedimentation?

Sedimentation is natural in traditionally / naturally filtered oils and it does not indicate spoilage.

Are wood-pressed and cold-pressed oils the same?

The wood press method uses a wooden chekku / Kacchi Ghani (a traditional press) to extract oil at temperatures below 40°C, retaining all the nutrients.

In contrast, the rotary method (cold press) uses a metal press, which generates slightly more heat (around 60°C) due to metal friction, potentially leading to the loss of some nutrients and the formation of unhealthy compounds.

Therefore, cold press doesn't always mean wood press. Although both methods are classified as cold pressing, the wood press is the traditional method that extracts oil with the lowest heat.
